could someone kindly provide the meaning of the follwing two caranas?
The first is from simhendramadhyama tillana, the second from hamirkalyani tillana.

1: Adi antamillA jyOti vaDivAna aNNAmalaikku upadEsham sheida dEva
dEvanAm
kumara guruparanai vaNangum krSNa dAsanai kAkka idu sammayam

2: vENDum varangaLai koDukkum varada rAjanai

Meena: The caraNAs that rasikapriya21 has been requesting meanings for, recently, are from the Sudha Raghunathan's CD consisting only of tillAnAs by Madurai N.Krishnan. His mudra krSNa occurs in both of the above caraNAs. I think there is, somewhere, a reference to this hamIrkalyANi tillana being attributed to Madurai N.Srinivasan. It might be a typo.

The compositions are both Madurai N. Krishnan's: they are part of the compilation of his tillAnAs sung by Sudha and more recently choreographed by Prof Sudharani Raghupati and brought out as a DVD- madura mArgam.

Rasikapriya, the charaNam that Meena translated referred to the episode where murugan explains the essence of praNava (Om) to his father, and earns the sobriquet 'swAminAthan' - and forms the legend of 'swAmimalai' one of the 6 paDai vIDu (hilltop temples) dedicated to murugan in Tamil Nadu.

varadarAjanE = Oh varadarAjan
kAnciyil = in the (city of) Kanchipuram
vITRirukkum = resident of/resider of/presiding deity of

krSNanai = Krishnan (the composer's mudra)
kAkka = protect/bless
samayam = time

Oh varadarAja, the presiding deity of Kanchipuram, the granter of all boons sought by your devotees, is it not time to bestow your protection and blessings on this devoted slave of yours?
