It would be nice to have information concerning the upcoming concerts on this forum at cities such as Hyderabad. I just returned from Hyderabad and realized that I missed the concert of Pantula Rama and others in the past two weeks. I certainly would have attended with my children had I any access to this information. Please let me know if there is one such place where such an information is already posted.
Thank you.

Revanth,
Once in two months? That is odd and sad. For a city like yours? I am surprised. No wonder andhra musicians settle in Chennai. A pity though. Is it because you lack sponsors? I do know that the sabha you are associated with is run by women and you have a series of wonderful concerts in spring. You have reviewed some of them too, even with the exams looming large.
What about other organizers? Surely, there are enough businesses in your city which might want to be known as supporters of the arts! And rasikAs! Is dance more popular? Or, does the city lead the nation in TV watching?

Long long ago, once, when my friend Mr. V. Kamalakara Rao, the vetaran Mridanga Vidwan, was travelling in US, it seems, somebody questioned him ‘how many hours do you have the telecasting daily in your country?’. Instead of replying him Mr. Rao re-questioned him ‘how many hours do you have dailyin your country?’ That man replied ‘twenty-two hours daily’. Then Mr. Rao replied ‘the remaining two hours do we have.’ This is the state of affairs here. amsharma

Dear arasi
There are two leading sabhas here in hyderabad one being Kalasagaram and one being SICA.
They try there level best to arrange concerts every month. But the number of people who turn up is very less. I dunno if there are enough number of patrons and life members in these sabhas. It could be because of the lack of sponsors. I'm not sure though! Guess the situation would be better if more and more people join the sabha. Well I do not know if it would be wise to mention it here but its a fact that we hardly find proper gurus here in hyderabad. The Scene of Carnatic music here is really different! I wish more and more rasikas from hyderabad turn up for concerts and make the situation better
As you mentioned "Sharadha Cultural Trust" the sabha which is an all women organization and the annual festival of theirs is really wonderful. They also promote the youngsters by organizing music competitions. There is Chandrasekhara educational society which also organizes an annual festival.
The scene in Hyderabad can be a little better is what i feel. I mean no one attends the concerts of the lesser known artistes but they make it a point to come when it is someone like Shri T N Seshagopalan or Sri Sanjay Subhramanyum. All must be encouraged.
Dance is more popular here as i notice that the dance recitals always have proper crowd.
