Hi everyone,
Almost a month ago i had put up a post requesting an audio for the dashavataram 'pralaya payodhi jale' composed by Jayadeva. In response i got the different versions of this song available online and I am really grateful for this help. I am organizing a dance show later during the year for my students to perform and i am trying to organize it such that my students get to perform to live music.
Although i have access to the the lyrics and the meaning and the audio of this particular song, i was wondering if its possible to integrate some jathis into this song. If yes, then how do i select which jathis to integrate into this song? Would anyone be willing to do this for me or guide me?
Many thanks and really appreciate your help. Lastly and importantly, i'm not sure if i am posting this request in the right forum so if i have posted in the wrong forum, many apologies for the inconvenience.
Best wishes,
Krishna

Krishna if you are organising the dance with live music, then you have to work with your musicians, especially the vocalist and the mrudangam artiste well in advance. They have to learn the song. Depending on how long you want the piece then you can add jathis at the end of each avataram. If you can't set the jathis yourself, then you will need to seek assistance from another dancer or the mrudangam artiste.
There was a recent performance of Dasavataram in Sydney but the song chosen was Kamalajasya a ragamalika or Swati Tirunal. The choreographer worked with the musicians months in advance and added extra bits in between each stanza to allow for more improvisation and she added jathis also. The whole program came to around 2 hours and involved 24 dancers.
