Appreciating Karnatic Music

Mudhra has been regularly conducting Music Appreciation Programmes for the past six years, with a view to enlighten rasikas about the beauty and nuances of Karnatic Music. Now, Mudhra will be conducting this as year long project of a 12 months lec-dem series (from March 2009 to February 2010), associating with one organization a month, so that more rasikas get the benefit of attending these programmes.
Presented by musician and musicologist Dr.Radha Bhaskar, the lecture-demonstration will also have interesting audio-visual clippings and interactive session with the audience. Every month, a specific topic will be taken for exposition. The first session was on the topic "understanding ragas."

Respected Radha Bhaskar,
I request you to kindly consider conducting this programmes with target audience of Youth. The programmes may be planned in all the Colleges and schools, with full support from the Management and parents. With majority of youth shying away from Classical Karnatic Music and easily appreciating and promoting other forms of Music, due to lack of exposure and with keen desire to flock to the music of Celebrities, promoted by the Media, the need of the hour of bringing youth back to appreciation of Karnatic Music is Now. You can do it with support from genuine sponsors . Looking forward to the announcement of such events/programmes, soon.
