This is exactly what i have been always stressing, we must have a complete list of Bangalore based forumites.. . we can plan a very large gettogether by sharing the expenses of hall rent, electricity and a nice lunch, music ,dance etc. gobilalitha
my son Mohan(kamalamba) is regularly visiting IISCand NCBS for guest lectures. On one such occasion the gettogether can be held. GOBILALITHA

Nice. I think Margazhi Ragam is a superb idea. Have to see it yet. Like others here I am from Bangalore and took a renewed interest in Carnatic music in recent years and am developing an appreciation for the art form. Hope many more discover its beauty.melakartha wrote:http://bangaloremirror.com/index.aspx?p ... §xslt=

Though present at some of the very same concerts in Chennai, some of us missed meeting each other. A badge after all is a practical solution, I suppose. VK, you can start designing again! Even a badge can work only when there aren't many in the hall, unless all the rasikAs stay on a bit at the entrance after a concert...

If there are no objections, the forum members can start giving particulars about their names (not forum names), their id, phone numberetc in this thread so that we can have a comprehensive list. The idea of having a meeting after a performance may not serve the wanted purpose. If all the bangalore based members give their particulars, we can prepare a comprehensive list and choose a convenient day for a meeting from morning to evening, consisting of lec-dem , music by forumites and so on. Though it is possible to reach members thro forum e mail facility, how to know who are the members fromBangalore and what a tedious job will it be?
the list begins with my name 1).S.K.BALASUBRAMANIAN(GOBILALITHA)[email protected] phone number 080/41714059. 080/41655152.
REQUEST. PL CONSIDER MY SUGGESTION. Of course, it will take sometime. Let us wait.
Moderators, can it be made a seperate thread? gbl

GBL: Thanks for taking the initiative to organize the Bangalore based rasikas. But I do not think sharing personal information like cell phone number ( and even email id in some cases ) is a good idea. Search engines like Google archive this info and it is forever available in cyberspace and it will be difficult if not impossible to erase it even if you want to. This is just one reason to not share such information in online forums. Another avenue you can pursue is, the rasikas can send you email with that detail and you can be the list keeper. You can share the list with other members upon request. Having said that, it is upto you and the Bangalore rasikas on how you want to go about this. We will make it a separate thread if needed depending on where this goes.

VK is right. I myself have seen many of our thread information in Google while searching for music related issues.
I have an interesting incident to narrate. It happened about 35 years back.
Once in my village two boys ran from their home and landed at Bombay. Police caught them at the railway station. These boys knew only about a gentleman name ( and partial address) in the village who was in Bombay and they readily shared the information to police. The ploice made few phone calls for this gentleman's home without telling the reason. The gentleman was not at home at that time. This was sufficient for the gentlemans family to go bersek and almost the issue was blown out. Since then no address sharing in our village
