In this month's Sruti, Dr Balamuralikrishna quotes a sastra that says:
"mrigaihi khagaiki nagaha sailaha siddha devaha maharishyaha kalam samana vartante yada vahava yuge yuge"

What is the origin of this verse and can someone please provide a translation.

Dear Mohan

The translation is like this
Mrigaihi - animals
Kaghaihi - birds
nagaha - snakes
sailaha - mountains
siddha - saints with power of creation
devah - devas
maharishyaha - maharishis
Kalam - TIME

Since time immemorial, (Through Ages -Yugams) all the above categories prosper alike. (its not vahava i think. it should be bahavaha meaning 'many'. It is similar to the adage "Time alone will tell". Like Time which appears to be standstill yet is not, the glory of the above mentioned categories of creatures can be known only as Time passes.
