Good one. At one point we wanted an animated figure to put thalam for practise. I guess this gentle-ET Looking-bhagavathar can be recruited for this purpose. :)

Yes, the 'angaceshtais' are so accurate.
They say that the braying of a donkey is good omen whenver you set out on a journey. Nothing is said about the singing of a donkey-this was the first thing in the morning I heard today.Let me see what it brings.:)

Venkat,
About horrible bAgavatars, one used to say,
'kazhudaiyAy kattugiRAr'. His singing is like the braying of a donkey. This one does not look like a monkey to me--also, this kazhudai bAgavatar sounds nice, at least for a short spell.

Punarvasu,
Isn't encountering a fox on waking up more of a lucky omen? nari mugattil vizhikkiRadu--not that we get to see them these days, except on the screen!

arasi, yes; Braying of a donkey is supposed to be good when you are setting out somewhere-a journey or so. I thought 'singing' of a donkey may be good for the journey of life(each day is a journey towards our destination):)

From shakuna sastram it is claimed that hearing the donkey braying is very auspicious but its sight is inauspicious!
Here is the original stotra :)

VK may note that in the high frequency the notes used are S R2 G2
Hence any similarity noticeable with vedic recitations is purely accidental :)
Warning: Only listen and any attempt to imitate the bhagavathar may result in an irreparable damage to the vocal system :)

CML: :) Since you dragged in vedic chants, may be this bagavathar was outside a vedic school and can not quite contain himself with his own interpretation. In the next incarnation he will be the chief of that school. ;)

CML,
based on your message, if somebody sets out of the house with eyes closed, there are chances that he stands behind a braying gardabha; will it still be auspicious?:(

Dear Punarvasu
Though it is considered inauspicious to look at the Donkey, it is considered auspicious to look yourself into a mirror as soon as you wake-up in the morning :)

whenever I sang my father used to jocularly comment ' my long eared friend is musically inclined today!'. i was reminded of his comments when i saw the slice.

Hey! I am confused. That looks like me but the music is better than mine! Did someone record a concert of mine that I did not give? Down with unauthorized recordings! This is a blatant attack on artists' rights! I demand that the accompanists be given credit as well! Why should only vocalists be honored thus!
