Vaigal Gnanaskandan is a disciple of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and has many students who have come to fame recently such as Gayathri Girish, Sikkhil Gurucharan and V. Sankara Narayanan.

He was Producer at All india Radio, Chennai. Aged in his early 50s, he has also composed several compositions.

Since you have mentioned that you learnt from this vidwan, you can write about him in this thread. There is a mention about him and his teaching in gurucharan's website , some time before when I had a brief talk with V Shankaranarayanan (who is also a forumite here with the id dikshitar)he also talked a lot about his guru. You organize your thoughts and write a big writeup, i am sure we all will enjoy.

I have not heard his recording yet , perhaps if you have one you could also post that(post his best, first impressions are the best)
