I wanted to request soem of the musicians and singers and other enthusiasts here as to how much can pratiice improve your brigha rendition capability? I read posts in another thread where someone has mentioned that with practice a lot of people can easily improve their range to 3 octaves(although I find it surprising). Can something be done for brighas too?

Obviously once cannot become a TN Seshagopalan just with practice alone. I wanted to know of any first hand experience or knowledge of what was your brigha rendition capability at the start of your singing and how much did it improve after several months or years. If you can illustrate with examples of what kind of songs you were able to render it will be nice. Thanks

brigha is inborn and it in my opinion can not be inculcated with practice. one redeeming factor is ofcourse that it is not a prerequisite for good music. excessive brigha leads to sruti lapse and a plain singing conforming to sruti will have the same effect.
