Hi, Is there any way, simple way to normalize volumes across mutliple MP3, which are from different concernts / places? Their recording volume levels might be different, and when we write a CD and play, the volumes in the player will not be same, and will be different for different tracks. How to handle this?
Objective is to get same volume for all tracks, even though they are from different concerts

Some CD burning programs like Nero have an option to normalise all tracks before they get written to the CD. You will probably find this feature in the advanced audio options section.
If there are huge variations in the levels in one track however, this process may not work too well and it would be better to work on this track individually in a program like Audacity.

hari: Nero is a good suggestion. It usually comes with many DVD burners.
Another option to try is Sox ( http://sox.sourceforge.net/ ). It is not for the faint hearted. Sox is a powerful free tool but it is a command line utility, you need to futz around with the various option until you get what you want. It is widely used by advanced and power users and you should be able to find enough help resources on the net. Let us know how you solved the problem.
