Is there a shop in the US that sells Veenai strings?
I can see them at Amazon.com, but seems a tad expensive and you can only buy an entire set.

I don't live in the US.....but a suggestion anyway....
If you go to any piano shop and ask for german 'roslau' wire. Take a small piece of the first string or second string from your veena so that they can measure the thickness and give you the equivalent one. You need to really ensure the thickness of the wire matches exactly with your sample (a few fractions of a millimeter may feel thick or thin for your fingers while playing). The roslau strings come in a roll that will last a life time.
I am assuming you wanted I and II strings....the mantra and anu mantra strings (copper wound) are best bought in India due to the extra lenght requried for the veena (guitar length won't be enough).
cheers
