Friends,
Sadly, I write to inform about the passing on of a wonderful person and one half of a very inspirational couple. Mahema and her husband Manohar Devadoss are well known in Chennai for fighting physical handicap and using their artistic talent for a number of worthy causes.
Their life story was an inspiration to the late MS Amma and Sadasivam sir. So I felt it appropriate to share this news within this forum. Manohar Devadoss made the pen and ink portait that adorns the first page of MS's biography by TJS George.
I had the good fortune a chance meeting and continued pen friendship with them and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know them.

May her soul rest in peace.
I can only think of how much T.J.S. George's narration of the couple's condition moved me when I read his book on MS amma a few days after it was released. The portrait of MS amma that Sri Manohar made immediately comes before my eyes. The book had mentioned that Sri Manohar had become almost blind and when he was supposed to draw the portrait, he could only see a couple of square millimeters of paper for a small amount of time when it was held close to his eye, that too with the help of special glasses. It is under this condition that he drew such a beautiful portrait.
I have never met the couple but will continue to get inspired by the way they faced the challenges thrown at them by life.

Truly a great couple who have fought back despite all the adversities they have had to face in their lives. Mahima Devadoss may have left this world but her life will forever be an inspiration to all people on how to face challenges that life throws at us, convert the same into opportunities and thence forth to achievements . And to think that all this was done with a smile on their faces.
Sincere condolences to Manohar Devadoss , a great artist, who stood like a pillar alongside his wife during her most difficult periods and also subsequently when he himself had become almost 100% blind.
They were extremely close to Smt MS, Sri T Sadasivam and also to Dr Badrinath of Sankara Nethralaya.
An outstanding couple without any doubt . May Mahima's soul Rest in Peace.
