The latter link contains a link to a podcast - sort of a lec-dem on dAsa sAhitys by yours truly.

"A bird's eye view of contribution of Haridasas" in Kannada.

You can directly go to the podcast here : http://hamsanandi.mypodcast.com/

Arasi avare, this is especially for you, since the last time I uploaded it on sendspace, you had problem downloading and listening to the talk. This time, I hope it will just be click and listen :)

I certainly hope to sing a few dEvaranAmas and pay my homage to the saint-composer-musician-reformer, all in one!

I am not sure what's happening - You should be able to click on the play button and should be able to listen. At least that's is how I see it here. What browser are you using?

My humble homage to the great saint-reformer.... ( I never can get a recording where I am happy with everything.. slips abound...) But wanted to share it with all of you learned folks on this day itself.

Got it, Ramakriya. Thanks!
Sends me running to my tattered copy of his padagaLu. If my computer skills are pathetic, my proficiency in reading kannaDA is not any better!

Very nice and thanks for posting Sridevi. Haven't heard any of these before. I liked marulu and the subhapantuvarali one very much.

I too listened to the shubhapantuvarALi ( IIRC, Nagamani Srinath used to sing this ugAbhOga + dEvaranAma of kanakadAsa), and ikkalAre kai enjalu. I knew about the latter composition, but hadn't heard anyone actually sing it.

Both are very nice.

You are spot on! i learnt it from a tape of Smt.Nagamani Srinath :)

ikkalAre was learnt from a tape by Sri.balamurali krishna - At least 16-17 years ago. I was browsing my cherished purandara dasa book ( one I got as a prize in 4th standard for a dasa krithi competition. :D ) and suddenly saw this in the book.

thanks for listening.
