What times during a day does FM Gold Chennai usually broadcasts carnatic music? Any other Chennai FM channel that broadcasts CM?

FM gold broadcasts regular CM from 0730 to 0830; 1500 to 1600 and 1700 to 1800. You also get (vintage) selections from 1heir archives from 1310 to 1400.

Music Schedule on FM Gold

6:10 am - 6:45 am - Devotional Music, Reciting of Slokas etc.

Carnatic Music:
7:25 am - 8:30 am, 11:30 am - 12 noon, 1:10 pm - 2 pm, 3 pm - 4 pm, 5 pm - 6 pm, 11:30 pm - 12 mid night.

10 pm - 11 pm - Hindustani Music.

The days schedule is announced at 6:55 am.

FM Rainbow has concerts broadcasted from 2 am - 3 am and 4 am - 5 am everyday.

There is some channel of AIR which broadcasts Nadasvaram everyday at 5 am. i dont know which one.

Non FM channels of AIR which broadcast classical music are

Madras A - 8:45 am or 9 am for one hour, 12:10 pm for half an hour & 9:30 pm to 11 pm on some days.

Madras B - 6:30 am to 7 am and 7:15 am to 8 am.

how is it that nobody has mentioned about SHRUTHI, the worldspace satellite channel for 24 hours carnatic music .of course it is not free , subscriptions 1000,1500 ,for 6 months, 1 year etc gravikiran, a dj is a forumite from bangalore pleasnt hearing gobilalitha

rbharath - are the 3 - 4 pm & 5 - 6 pm slots in FM Gold only on special occasions or sure daily? All I got today was static. The Hindu also does not list those slots for FM Gold schedule for today.

91.9 Aha FM braodcasts a program on CM on Saturdays & Sundays from 7 am to 9 am. The program is not in concert format but a chat show with CM artists with a god mix of songs.

i m sure FM Gold has carnatic music at 3 pm and 5 pm everyday. have heard umpteen such concerts myself. may be today was something else.

usually FM Gold is where all the live commentaries happen, be it cricket, football, hockey, ranji, some inauguration, some address, blah blah and anything else. so if u listen to the schedule at 6:55 am you will know when the concerts are.

rajumds, FM Gold does not broadcast from 12:12 am to 5:53 am or so. FM Rainbow has carnatic music from 2 am to 3 am and again from 4 am...

dont totally believe hindu's schedules. they can be misleading many times.

The 5.00 am nadaswaram recital everyday is from FM Rainbow. Mostly currentday performers but occasionally gems from Karukurichi, Rajarathnam etc.

Guess the problem was because of weak signal where i am at. whenever I am near the windows of my building I get clear reception of FM Gold but not if I move away from windows. Though I am able to get other channels. Life is simply not fair

thats the eternal problem with FM Gold. happens with me also. cant help it i guess
