I don't exactly what you mean by transcribing.
If you want to just write the sollukattus, just follow the way carnatic music notes are written.
But Ms. Padma Subrahmanyam has come up with a unique notation system where in you can also make a not of the foot work. This notation draws its inspiration from the style of western music notation
Basically there are as many lines as the kind of pada bhedas/charis .The time measure of a particular movement is recorded using a kind of time line,
I know its hard to understand this from my words. But it kind of looks like western music notation.
I have seen this explained in Sunil kothari's book "Bharathanatyam".
I am sure if we gave some thought to it we can also use the Laban Movement recording system in our own indigenous way.
Sometimes I think Indian Music and dance is so intricate, that the easiest way to record them would be a video shooting only.

Hi,
If I understand this correctly ? you could take the notation of the Allegro piece from the video below
http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=71434#p71434
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx18tG-zf2k
and by permission from
www.dipanwitaroy.com
and
Ms. Padma Subrahmanyam
put the beatiful footwork of the sri dipanwitaroy right above the corresponding notation example? i.g.
http://www.macromusic.org/journal/volum ... erber4.gif
I have read of this before but never seen it yet,
could you post a sample how this looks like?
It could be benefical to put dancemotion to SecondLife avatars
thx
