From what little I saw on the You Tube, it is a very brief yet informative program for non specialists. She explains the rAga swarUpa with a few examples from classical and film songs. It could be more elaborate, but time allotted may be a factor.

it is an excellent ,educative programme for people who are not conversant with raagas, especially for those who do not know anything about the concept of raagas, what all they know is such and such film song is very pleasnt to hear, they will immediately remember some other song which is similar to the earlier song. they are intelligent enough to connect the song with the raaga .. tif they hear continuosly, they will learn some raagas, on which the film song is based. this applies only to melodious songs of yore , but not to for today's songs, which are ear piercing computerised noises, with no melody ,raaga, but high sounding noises from drums and other percussion instruments. charulata mani deserves special thanks for this effort. but.as sunderrajan has pointed out, it could be more elaborate, in this connection, I would like tostate the attitude of a very senior musician. when a correspondent asked him what he could do for carnatic music to reach the masses, he retorted "why should it? gobilalitha

the concert versions go upto 2 hours with 2 or 3 ragas taken up.these are more exhaustive and are on dvd from gita.

could someone share the november episodes from jaya tv? i missed them. i can share the older episodes if anyone is interested. the clips on youtube are low-res, which is good for playing online, but i would prefer 640x480 upward.
