This is an email received by our Coolkarniji from Lalgudi Sri GJR Krishnan recently containing some of his views on this forum, which he was kind enough to share with us. On behalf of all of us, let me express our thanks to Sri Krishnan and Sri Kulkarni.

> Dear Sri Kulkarni,
> It was nice talking to you and mightily pleased too to hear your
> comments on my father.
> I am not flattering you when I say that only excellence can
> recognise and appreciate excellence.
> The thought of internet is a bit scarry because I have read some
> of the postings a few years ago. They usually carry a lot of bias
> , negativity, mud slinging, slander - to put it in short- a bit
> worse than the autorickshaw fights in Chennai.
> But this rasikas.org is carrying on its job with dignity and culture.
> Thanks a ton for readily agreeing to part with the recordings
> that you must have toiled to buildit up over the past several years.
> When I heard your name somehow I thought it must be an elderly
> North Indian . But you really surprised me.
> We will keep in touch.
> Best regards
> Krishnan

Could we petition him back?!

On a side note, what recordings has Coolkarni had to part with? I don't understand.

Kulkarni deserves a place of honour at rasikas.org. He is the 'model' Rasika, frank and ingenuous with almost a child's innocence while seeking information while he himself is a veritable storehouse of CM-tid-bits accumulated over the years through his assiduous participation and enthusiasm. Anyone who has spent a few moments with him would not fail to get energized by his eternal optimism, let alone the warm glint from his eyes. While it is true that we all miss him at the Forum, it is even more true that he is missing us all. But then being in the prime of his life he has duties and commitments and he should not be trapped through our love at the Forum as we had discussed at the 'addiction' thread! When the time is ripe he will be back to recharge our batteries. Till then let us keep the bubblies on ice!

My admiration for the Lalgudi family grows when I read the letter from GJR Krishnan! Bless him and his art!

We have been singing along. It is worth singing it again: rut badlE yA jIvan bItE, Cool ke dil ke tarAnEn nahIn hongE purAnE, unkE gItOn kE lahrEn aur kahAniyAn tO Ek khazAnA hai.
(seasons may change, life may march on, but the ardor of Cool's heart would stay fresh forever. The enthusiasm he generates with music and his stories are a treasure indeed for many of us on the forum)
And his friendship.

Thanks once again for renewing our plea. Krishnan viDu dUtu! (KrishnA's diplomatic mission as the representative of all rasikAs here)...
Cool, are you listening??

Ah, you mean to say you haven't noticed his absence all this time?

Sri Krishnan had obtained from coolkarni a few rare concert recordings of Somu where his father had accompanied him, that was what the reply was for.

Let us put all efforts continue the good work....and attract the attention of more artists.

Coolkarni I am sure is an invisible reader, so though he wont reply he is reading all that we are posting.

CML,
Our posts crossed and I saw your post just now. You have spelt it out clearly. We would wait until he is ready to give us the pleasure (treasure) of his company. Good things are worth waiting for...
