Janaka Ragas Needed...

Hi All...

Could anyone pls tell me the janaka ragas of Vasanthi and Karnaranjani??

Are there any Keerthanas in Vasanthi Ragam..

Vasanti should belong to the 25th Melakartha raga, mAraranjani (could also be classified under Charukesi or Sarasangi). Lalgudi Jayaraman has composed a tillana in this raga. I am sure there are other compositions too.

Karnaranjani belongs to the 22nd Melakartha. It has been previously discussed on this forum at length.

Thank you Mohan. Yes. There is an other tillana composed by Kumaresh-Ganash in Vasanthi. In fact I came to know abt the existance of ragam Vasanthi only after listening to their composition. Its a very touching raga...

Many dEvaranAmas have been tuned in vAsanti too.
