FYI. The Gokulashtami series concert schedule is out for Sri Krishna Gana Sabha. http://www.krishnaganasabha.org/skgsgokulashtami07.pdf

Vidwan A. Sundaresan will be posthumously awarded the Acharya Choodamani title.

This is the first concert season after the demise of Sri. Yagnaraman. Very impressive line-up running through August and September.

In the last 5 years , I have seen SKGS gokulashtami festival spread is very good .Some times I feel I can live with gokulAshtami than to hop to sabhas in dec ,where musicians are running a rat race.

BUT ONE MAJOR CRIB WITH SKGS, THEY ALLOW MUSICIANS ON SAT AND SUN TO SING FOR 3 HOURS,BUT WEEKDAY MUSICIANS WILL BE ASKED TO CUT THE CONCERT TIME SHARPLY in 2 and 1/2 hours.THAT CREATES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE TO MOST OF US.HOPE THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES ,READ THIS POST AND GIVE FAIR CHANCE OF 3 HOURS TO ALL.

On a side note, if anbody attends shri ramachandran's concert ask him to sing hiranmayeem lakshmeeem in lalitha with a detailed alApana ,perhaps RNST . His voice and his felicity should fetch him another 100 more sangeetha "lalitha" choodAmani.Congratulations to shri rAmachandran.

Rajesh
I have great pleasure in joining your felicitations for Maharjapuram Ramachandran who has great potential and vidvat which might even fetch him even the coveted SK one of these days (provided he pays attention to his accompanists and does not cut them off before they complete their musical phrases)! The intrinsic Maharajpuram gene is a formidable gift for us Karnatic lovers!

cmlover,
I do know how you came to that conclusion. Perhaps you were in Air France withthe subsequent jetlag when this post was posted and perhaps you missed out. Why don't you add some color here http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=3191
