Amirtha Murali gave a scintillating concert performance at Raga Sudha. I did not take notes - so this is entirely from memory.
From the get go of Sathguru gajasya vani (which to my pleasant surprise I seem to have by heart now) in Hamsadvani she lost herself in the music and took the audience along to boot.
A rare Nee sati deivamu in Sriranjani (http://guru-guha.blogspot.com/2008/01/d ... saati.html) followed. Do not remember having heard this before.
Vidaluku mrokeda was sung with effervescent energy with an elaborate neraval and swaras reminding us of the Vidaluku of our times.
K.Arun Prakash wove his magic as he played ulle veliye simultaneously with Guruprasad on the ghatam and the structure of the song itself.
Ni chittamu nischalamu in danyasi was sung as submain. It was finely presented
Devi Meenanetri in Shankarabharanam was chosen for main. The concert that was roaring along settled down nicely for the evening. The tala structure of the song was a bit of a conundrum but may be I just have to hear it more.
R.K.Sriramkumar was on the violin and was happy to play second fiddle.
One of the rare artistes who sings as much for herself as for the audience.

Suresh, Thanks for the review. Motivated by your two reviews, today I will be attending her concert in Vani Mahal. Hope to meet you there.
Nee sati- Daru varnam attributed to Deekshitar. Many stories. But nice one. Usually sung by MS, DKJ. Their recordings are available.
Devi Meenanethri- A rare composition of Syama Sastri. One of the Meenakshi Navarathnamalka kritis. TNS has a sung this in a demo concert in Ragasudha Hall about five years back.

Thanks for the info. I had to come home and google to find out that it was a Dikshitar kriti.
Think I will be at the Kapali temple today for Sanjay. He probably will have something up his sleeve too
