What a beautiful concert of sheer bliss.
The theme was unique and Fine Arts inaugurated their new hall for the concerts with the theme yaro ivar yaro.
Vidya introduced the concert saying they had selected the songs from each of the composers ,
Both of them gave information about song they were going to sing which made it more enjoyable.
The team was charged up and in great form from the word go.
Kalyana rama was sung by VIdya andd Deva devam by Ashwath
THen came the grand bhairavi aalaap started by Ashwath and taken over in half by Vidya and it was an electric moment a they started Yaro ivar yaro
After Mamava sung by both ramanamame was taken by VIdya and pibare by Ashwath .
Both joined to sing the rarely heard vara leela .it was amazing that it was sung in a western classical music style Vidya going high pitch and Ashwath in low pitch.
They both deserved the ovation they got from the packed hall.
Shivkumar and Rohit were excellent in this 2 hours concert.
Fine Arts after a brilliant 4 days carnatic festival had another gem of a concert on Friday. Indeed they have
brought back a touch of freshness to mumbai music .

The theme seems to be Rama!
Wonderful. Great that young and talented musicians aren't afraid to present concerts pivoted around great devotional kritis dedicated to Rama or Krishna or Shiva or Devi. For me Carnatic music's appeal STARTS from these great compositions.

Yes even I couldn't get any link between the theme and the other songs other than the bhairavi one
Could it have just been a gimmick to lure public because thematic concerts are becoming more and more

This is election time . yArO ivar yArO is all related to voter identity. Look at the list of vaggayakkeras who are the voters .They are PD,ST,OVK,AC,AK,MD , TSI , SB, PSivan, Meera and BR all representing with only one tick. Only T has been represented twice that is because sadguru Thyaraja and his wife parvathi(Mrs Thyagaraja) came to vote . As such the two artists wrapped up quickly all in two hours looking at their faces of each vaggeyakkaras all the while singing possibly the only neraval chandra bimba mukha malarAnEn.

Rajesh,
I heard this comment from Swami Parthasarathy during a discourse on Geeta.
What is the difference between Rabindranath Tagore and an ordinary mortal like me?
When I go and behold the Taj Mahal for the first time, I say, "you know, this place is full of politics".
When Tagore saw the Taj Mahal the first time, he is said to have remarked, "What a creation! It is a tear drop on the cheek of eternity!"
