“You have got to be careful about your thoughts in case you are sitting plumb in front of Palghat Ramprasad,as I happened to be yesterday at his LAYAMADHURA,post-Awards concert.
I mean,the guy seems to be seriously into telepathy or mind reading. He did it to me three times yesterday,so it can't be a coincidence....
First,as I sat down,I thought how nice it wud be if he sang an Azhwar pasuram as the weekend was dedicated to Raja Kulasekara,the only Azhwar from Kerala who renounced his vast kingdom in pursuit of liberation. Not any pasuram as a filler,but Ramp actually proceeded to render the great Thiruppavai in Kalyani as one of his two sub-mains....
அம்பரமே தண்ணீரே சோறே அறஞ்செய்யும்
எம்பெருமான் நந்தகோபாலா எழுந்திராய்...filled up the hall in perfect diction.Then came the bonus by way of a powerful niraval at...செம்பொற் கழலடிச் செல்வா பலதேவா resonating in mElkAlam to the delight of mrudangam maestro Sangitha Kalanidhi Trichy Sankaran...
Second...came when I thought no 1 was a coincidence..Ramp sang a throbbing Danyasi for another sub-main and Nagai Sriram was exquisite on the violin as well.The thought crossed my mind,..not one of the regular krithis in Danyasi but how nice it wud be if Ramp sang Shyamaa Shaastri's meena lOchanA brOva in the enchanting
miSra chApu gait...And,45 secs later,once Sankaran sir was ready,Ramp started,what else,meena lOchanA brOva! Too good to be true,but I decided not to look the gift horse in the mouth but just soak in the music,as entreaty after entreaty flowed to the "Mother with the fish-shaped eyes"..Ramp's vilamba kAla rendition was as soothing as the charanam line
which goes....your gait is majestic like elephant walk!
Third? Yes,the big one! Emboldened by now,I waited for the Main,which Ramp rolled out in dEvagAndhari in its grandiose hues.Again,Nagai Sriram responded with deft touch artistry.I looked straight at Ramp with wish-list in my eyes....Please,please sing my favorite Thyagaraja krithi in the raga....sItA vara sangIta jnAnamu dhAta vrAyavalerA! (My favorite over all other krithis of the Saint in the dEvagAndhari..because it is the one krithi where he makes an almost dogmatic statement...knowledge of music should have been ordained by brahmA on your forehead if you were to attain mOksham!..I simply love that). By now,obviously,reading my mind without effort,Ramp rendered the krithi,rendered it with passion to convey the certitude of the Saint's ultimate eulogy on Sangeetham..As anticipated,a grand and expansive niraval unfolded at AkASa SarIramu brahmam(a)nE AtmA rAmuni..Ramp's impassioned niraval filled up the roof of the hall...AkASa SarIramu..,indeed!The swarakalpana hereabouts was high octane,mind blowing stuff...the mellinam and vallinam alternating throughout in melodic dEvagAndhAri. Nagai Sriram lapped it all up and returned fire in a trice.Then,the Thani of the Year began at 930 pm and went upto 950 pm,with not one soul in the packed auditorium even daring to breath aloud. Dulcet and thunderous in alternation,Trichy Sankaran sir simply blew our minds away. Ghatam V.Suresh,deferential while listening to the maestro but determined while responding with his own nimble fingers,kept us all on our seats' edges...What a treat of a thani as a takeaway!
Unmindful of the clock showing 10 PM (see photo no 2), Ramp confidently went on to close with a jAvali and a tillAna..In the process,he redeemed the reputation of Chennai rasikAs,all of whom in the house-full auditorium stayed put till the end,a record for Ragasuda hall..”

The concert ended at 10pm what time it started. Give both ramp up and ramp down data. i knew there was speech and function and that is why that day i went to shertalai. How long was the concert exclusive of speech. if possible give, atleast all the song list please.
i have,heard him sung 2 of the krithis that you mentioned in non telepathic mode .Ramp was terrific there.

He is definitely not a youngster. I remember listening to his radio concerts even many many years ago - like early 2000's
