Post by shrinik »

Dear All,

I am looking to perform a thematic concert on the relationship between a composer and the deity..for example how the composers treat the deity like a friend, brother a guru and how much liberty they take to ask the deity to come and protect them .. could anyone pls suggest few krithis. Thanks a lot in advance!

Nice theme - there is lot of scope
Syama Sasthri always has relationship Mother and Child with Kamakshi
"talli gadA nEnu nIdu biTTanu lAlinci"
Extracted from Palinchu Kamakshi in Madhyamavati raga

Chakar rakho ji - Meera bhajan - here she says to Krishna to keep her as a servant (chakar means Dasa in Maarwadi). M.S has sung this in Meera

Abhang Bhaktha Jana Vatasale - Tukkaram - Aruna Sairam has mentioned that Tukkaram considers Panduranga as Mother form Jagadambe and sings this song. This is quite unique

Guru Purandara Dasare ninna charana kamalava nambidhe - Hameer Kalyani - Vijaya vittalla dasa who is sishya addresses this song to his Guru Purandara dasa
Similar theme
Sadguru Swamikki - Ritigowla - Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar - addresses to his Guru Sri Tyagarajar - this is awesome song - refer Vijay Siva singing in Margazhi utsavam

Oothukkadu venkatakavi's ishta devatha was sri krishna.
mahakavi in compositions feels him self as a gopi sthri( nayika bhavam)
and in some compositions he has guru-shishya bhavam with sri krishna
