Pt Venkatesh Kumar was awarded Samagana Mathanga National Award for excellence in music. It was followed by an excellent concert by RaGa Sisters. Pundit ji stayed back for the concert till the end of the kIravANI main piece.

What is 'trimukhi tALa'? And what was the pallavi line?

Trimukhi tala as mentioned by Gayatri is one in which the down beats of Adi tala (1, 5 and 7 beats, i heard her say down beat , don't know why they are called that way?, essentially the start beat of the different angas of the tala) are in tisra while the rest of the beats are in chatusra. Needs some practice to get it right.
The pallavi line was raara rajeevalochana rama (given that the theme of the festival was Mysore asthana composers). The pallavi started 1/4 beat before the start of the tala.
