I wonder if anybody has a collection of tanis of G Harishankar playing the Khanjira. Would love some links.

I had the great forture of being able to attend concerts where he played khanjira accompaniment, teaming up with leading mridangam players of the day.

I found him to be one of the most amazing percussionist ever, Carnatic, Hindustani or Western.

It was a great blend of virtuosity, creativity, tone, kaalapramanam perfection...you name it. What an avatar of rhythm !

uday,

Did you check youtube? There are a few on youtube. Although video/audio may not always be in sync depending on network performance - the audio part is still phenomenal!

You can start here: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Harishankar
