Hi,

The workshop went off very well under the guidance of Shri Vasudevan Ram.

The first workshop focused on voice culture. The workshop covered important aspects of Understanding Voice and natural sruthi, Voice Production, and Appropriate sounds to use with Voice, Voice Practices and Techniques and how to avoid stress to voice. The focus was on speech and singing and how natural voice should be used for both. The sessions were interactive and participants found it quite useful in their day to day practice.

The second workshop focused on Practices / Sadhaka methods. The various practices in Sarali, Jantai and thaatu varisai’s other than what is mentioned in music books was taken up. The focus was also to do these practices in natural voice, with gamakams and right speeds to give the voice flexibility and movement required for classical music.
