Yes. It is the divine bliss experienced in listening to music by a creative genius who communicates his nadhabrahma saakshaathkaara anubhava through his divine music. Blessed indeed are the singer and the listener who are one in holy communion when they lose their individuality and become merged in divinity. Failure to experience what one understands and appreciates is due to moha or delusion. This is because, experiencing a thing of joy is beyond understanding and appreciating it.
This can be explained further. For example when you listen to music, you may understand the raga and the song and appreciate the quality of the music rendered. But the majority of listeners stop with this and forget it after a while. But to go beyond that stage and to get the (experience of it requires deeper involvement and only very fortunate few are able to have that experience of music which creates ecstasy that makes one oblivious of surroundings and of himself. To create such music is also possible only to a fortunate few. ’manushyaaNaam sahasrEshu janyathe eedhrso janah,’ such a musician is one among thousands who is chosen by the Lord Himself and is filled with divine fervour.
The bliss divine experienced by the inspired musician flows to the inspired rasika which makes him share that experience.Then the divinity manifest in the pure heart of the singer is reflected in the heart of the listener through the medium of ego-less, inner equipment (anthahkaraNa).
An inspired musician is like a rain-bearing cloud which after imbibing the water from the sea gives it all back to the world. The sea from which this ganamegha, music cloud, is gathering water, is the milky, not salty, ocean of divinity. This megha does not become empty on showering its contents on the rasikas but always remains full by continous absorption of the divine music.
The rainwater which falls on a muddy ground immediately disappears and that which falls on a stony surface stays there. The water that falls on the river alone gathers speed and rushes towards the ocean and gets united with it. So too, the shower of music which falls on the ears of the uninititiated disappears without a trace.When it reaches an ordinary rasika it stays there doing nothing to him beyond understanding and appreciation. But when it is showered on an inspired rasika it gathers momentum and rushes towards the sea of divinity and the rasika like a river merges back into the source he came from, namely the Lord. What can only be achieved normally through rigorous austerities and meditation, is made easily available through music. It is twice blessed, to the one who gives and one who receives. All we have to do to have the experience of bliss is to keep our mind open and spotless and wait forthe right music, like the oyster, which keeps its mouth open for the rain drop to fall in it and be transformed into a pearl.

thanks for this beautiful article !! i am a new member. i would like to know if there is a source for knowing the meanings of carnatic songs. not lyrics, there are many sites for lyrics. i want the meaning. i love so many songs like Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma by Sri Purandara Dasa in
Ragam Madhyamavathi. also kuzhaloodhi manamellam in kambhoji.

Instead of Singing the songs blindly, rendering after understanding the meaning is always healthy as it wont hurt the sentiments.Eg a Tamil Singer, while singing the Kritis of Thyagaraja in Telugu or a Purandaradasa's Kritis in kannada if he pronounces the words correctly, he would get appreciation for that itself rather than a chaste rendition.
We have seen many a great singers for Eg. Palghat KVN, giving the stress on each sahitya even when it comes to other language kritis
I dont remember any other Singer laying emphasis like KVN.
If anyone could help me onthis we can elaborate a more on the discussion
