Vidyadhaan, a unique, not for profit initiative by Carnatica Archival Centre is all set to kick start on the Vijayadasami day(13th October 2013). To impart knowledge to people from all walks of life around the globe is the idea behind Vidyadhaan. Culture and art forms the heart of living. Vidyadhaan's aim is to promote various art forms and propagate the culture to as many people as possible. Wherever one lives in the World, to learn Carnatic or Hindustani music, slokas or bhajans, dance or culturally connected epics or languages like Sanskrit, Vidyadhaan is going to be a one stop portal", says K.N.Shashikiran, the founder director of Carnatica who conceptualized this initiative.
The portal consists of a variety of segments like Sangeet Vidyadhaan, Kala Vidyadhaan, Samskrita Vidyadhaan and Natya Vidyadhaan. The forum is open to all teachers across the globe. Any level of teaching (basic, intermediate or advanced) is welcomed. You could be Students, professionals, corporates, home makers or retired people, Vidyadhaan is designed to cater to all your needs. The classes are absolutely free. Voluntary donations will go back into the stream to support teachers that are in need and to also provide medical assistance to them. Similarly deserving students who are having financial crisis will be supported with the help of scholarships.
Classes will be conducted live and online based on the location and availability of teachers and students. Besides,teachers will be assigned to train special children and people that are differently abled. Meditative music and spiritual sessions will also be conducted for students periodically.
People can contribute by providing space in their houses or apartments to conduct classes. Technical support from professionals are also welcomed.
