Ah, what a pointless article. It's true, but pointless. Everyone knows it's all politics... there was some talk last year when Shobana won it and not some senior guru.

I am ecstatic, however, that my Guru, Narmada, bagged the SNA. I was there right after she received the news, and she was elated... but always, always humble.

But Bombay Jaishree and Aruna Sayeeram did not get it in the end....and what is the Kanimozhi connection with these artists, my curious mind wonders!

Bombay Jaishree I know has sung songs composed by Kanimozhi...Do not know about the Aruna Sayeeram connection.
IMO, Jaishree's experiment was like setting Bharatidasan's compositions to CM - Nityashree's attampt to sing them was a pathetic failure. The only 'musical' song of B'dasan that I have heard (and incidentally, one of my all time favorite tamizh songs that appeal to me as a dad) is the dES composition - 'tunbam nErgayil'....The rest plain sucked....
