Was she also known as Padmini Ramachandran or is it someone else who is in Bangalore by that name? Couple of years ago. I was trying to get in touch with THE Padmini Ramachandran in the US via email. What I got as a reply was from another Padmini Ramachandran (danseuse) in Bangalore who also is an expert in Bharathnatyam.

51! Terrible.

She was a chief guest for an arangetram I attended in Bangalore just this past December... they made quite a big deal about her.

And no, Padmini Ramachandran is another reputed guru in Bangalore (her students include the upcoming Navia Natarajan and Kirti Ramgopal).

Wonder what causes such young people to die....
May her soul rest in peace!

Here is an attempt to explain mortality in South Asian men at earlier ages:

May her soul rest in piece. She was doing a good service for the dance community, she conducted dance festivals giving an opportunity for the upcoming artistes (without asking for money). Not a common feature these days.
