transliterating telugu pdf files into text or word format

I use the program http://lekhini.org/nikhile.html to transliterate telugu files. For some reason it would not allow me to convert telugu pdf files. Is there some way to overcome this problem?

I find no one has so far responded to your query. To my understanding it is not possible to convert non-English text of a pdf file to a text file. I have Adobe Acrobat PDF (licensed version) I tried with that, but was not successful.

From what I understand, when a file is converted to pdf, what we get is an image of the file (which was converted to pdf), and therefore we are not able to make go into the contents of the original file and make any modifications.

I don't know if my explanation is clear to understand - I hope someone can explain it better!
