Wish all the Rasikas A VERY HAPPY DEEPAWALI !!!
Incidentally, Sri.Muthuswamy Dikshitar Aradhana Day falls on Deepavali Day. Let us all pray tribute to that great composer, one of the trinity, who was an embodiment of Manthra, Yathra,Thantra, Jyothishya,Sangeetha and related fields and who has given us a rich legacy of compositions all in sanskrit extolling almost all gods/godesses of Hindu pantheon.
During Deepavali, both Lord Krishna & Sri Lakshmi are worshipped, it's a fitting tribute to listen/sing to Muthuswami Dikshitar's compositions on these deities.
Few of his compositions on Lord Krishna & Sri Lakshmi are
Lord Krishna: Sri Krishnam Bhaja Manasa ( Thodi)
Sri Venu Gopala(Kuranji)
Sri Lakshmi: Hiranmayeem (Lalitha)
Sri Varalakshmi Namasthubhyam(Sri)
Sri Varalakshmi ( Sowrashtra)
It's beleived that Dikshitar asked his disciples to sing
" Meenakshi Me Mudham ( Poorvi Kalyani)" before leaving his shareeram. I request all rasikas to sing/play this song as a tribute to that great composer " Nada Jyothi Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar" .
