Dear Friends,

Our family has always been an avid part of the world’s Carnatic music scene whether as rasikas, as shishyas, as performers, or sharing our thoughts on Carnatic music forums such as this. Through the course of the years, we’ve lived in different countries and had the privilege of learning from many gurus. One thing we missed though is continuity of learning. Perhaps we had to say goodbye more times than we would have liked. Some places like Ithaca, NY allowed us to keep guard on the embers of musical learning but offered little opportunity to fan them into flames of progress. We started a website to address this need and make sure that the music students of today can continue to learn from wherever they are, from whomever they want. It is called Acharyanet (www.acharyanet.com) and allows music students to connect to teachers from the forefront of Carnatic music.

If you are a music student, please take a moment to go check it out. If you are a teacher and are interested in being part of this service please contact us through the website. There is no fee for registration. We hope you will help support this service and provide feedback on how we can continue to serve the international music community.

Sincerely,
Priya and Sowmya
