Yours truly is presenting "AMUDHUM THENUM"

Classical Carnatic kritis with manodharma (with pakkavadyam) and corresponding vintage cine hits(with orchestra) of MKT, Dandapani Desigar, P U Chinnappa et al in TEN RAGAS.

THE PROGRAMME IS A TICKETED ONE. I REALLY WISH THAT I COULD BUY ALL OF MY FORUM FRIENDS FREE TICKETS IF THEY PLAN TO TURN UP..

Very much enjoyed you RTP the other day. I won't be aiming for this one, but your name seems to appear quite often in this year's listings, so will be seeing you again soon, I'm sure.

I am sure it is going to be a topnotch performance. Such a pity, we had to hurry back home this morning. amudum tEnum is a fitting title for the concert.
Look forward to your concerts when we are back in Chennai in a week's time.

For Nick and others who may need the translation, it is: Nectar (CM), the food of the gods and honey (CM based film music).

I attended this superb program, thanks Suryaprakash! It was indeed like tasting honey! A great change from the regular concerts especially if one is fond of immortal movie songs tuned by the likes of Papanasam Sivan and G Ramanathan.

Posting the song list for the sake of Rasikas who missed the event. The accompanist details are already shared.

6. Sri ranjani: Outline + kAna vEnDAmO - this is now a regular concert piece but originally from film Nandanar sung by MMD

8. kODaiyilE iLaippARRi - a song by SG Kittappa - was the highlight of the day for me! I have not heard this one before - in fact the only SGK I have heard is his 'evarani' from a commercial album - I have made up my mind to look for the original this film song as well as any other SGK numbers I can find
9. deena karunAkaranE - (MKT, film?: ?)
10.krishnA mukundA - MKT, film: Haridas
11. Hemavati AlApana + Sri kAlahastISa + chidambaranAthA (MKT, film: ?)
12. tODi outline + pAvi Ezhai...mADu vazhi maraittirukkudE (film song by MMD?)
13. ammaiyappA - MKT, Haridas

The program was compered by ARS (from filmdom). YG Mahendra played tabla for two numbers. Suryapraksh changed his Sruti for the carnatic pieces (2 kaTTai) and the film songs (4 kaTTai).
