Greetings,

We all know that Akella Sir is actively participating in our forum educating us and guiding us in this fine arts called music.

I happened to procure some of his erstwhile video recordings. If rasikas care to watch them I shall upload them all to the youtube.

Right now my hands are full shuffling many things and uploading is a strenous work too.

I am wondering how many of you would be interested to watch the video and I shall upload them all considering the enthusiasm shown.

Want to watch Akella Sir in action .?.. I need at least 10 hands raised.

Thanks Cienu for reminding that. I did send a mail to Akella Sir and he consented as this is only for educative purpose. I knew he would not decline since this is for us Rasikas to relish.

yes I can do both youtube and rapidshare. but which one is better is faster. megaupload or rapidshare .. or anything else ?

Coolkarni sir's hands seem equal to ten. I have been reading his posts along with all other rasikas and i am in awe of everybody in the forum. We have amazing people in the forum.

Hi, all brothers, In fact, nowadays, I have minimised my travel to outstations due to the decrease in my physical strength at this age of 70. However, I am unable to say no for any Demonstration or Workshop in connection with the propagation of easy methods in teaching our classical Karnataka music. Thus, I could not refuse to go to Visakhapatnam on 8th December and also some other date yet to be fixed in December or January to go to Bangalore. In the meantime I have received this letter to attend the official meeting with the Governor at Chennai on 20th December as the member of the South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur. Feel sorry for the demise of the TMK thread

Especially when Vijay started waxing eloquent and the sparkling reviewer in him has woken up and started roaring!
It will be nice to pick the brains of Sarmaji on the issue of the Future of CM. Being a seasoned instrumentalist he is not tied down with allegiance to any Vaggeyakaras as also he has technical insight into the potential for CM to grow out of its time-worn shackles of Tradition.

Trust someone (Vijay?) will keep notes of the discussions at Coolkarni's place.

I was trying to uploas Sharmaji's video to youtube. But the max permitted time lenght is only 10 min. Does anyone have a partner account or something like that. I dont want to put that it bits and pieces. I have 7 files all going to more than 30 min.

Need help here.

Yes Sir - I know it got cut off before you had a chance to respond to my ill-considered diatribe against Illaiyaraja! I actually don't have anything against him and actually like many of his songs - so it was an over-reaction.

Anyway thanks to my revised schedule I think I will unfortunately be missing this particular get-together. I hope Akella-sir is in town for a few more days after 19th as well. I also hope someone will be taking notes in my place...

BTW I got a little confused when I read about "Sarmaji" - I am also a "sarma" although most certainly not a "ji"

In fact when I was in college where I had a reputation for err....falling behind a little in class...my friends used to mockingly call me as Sarmaji, Panditji etc.!

GM: I can not upload anything to youtube bigger than what they allow. I do not know what a partner account is.

I guess the plan that is being discussed is to upload the videos to Sangeethapriya as a permanent archive. I can help with the upload of the Sharmaji's videos in to the same space at sangeethapriya where I had previously uploaded the AMS Easy Methods 2007 cd.

Watch the above video and there are several such videos going for more than even 1 hour. I guess this could be done by certain account holders only. I dont know how to become one. If someone can help with that.

GM, rapidshare like sites will work, no problems. Since the file sizes are bigger than 100 meg, make sure rapidshare allows such files. Otherwise pick anything else that allows such sizes. Thanks.

to add my two cents

youtube used to allow certain accounts to have no limits on their upload length. the vichella account appears to be one of those.

youtube now doesn't allow any such accounts to be created, but those who had them previously can still use them

perhaps someone could contact him/her to see if he/she would be willing to host the sites (i don't see why that would be a problem)

Google videos allows the user to upload larger files. Try video.google.com

I don't think the user account in google videos require special privileges to upload larger videos. I recently uploaded a 21 minute video (don't remember the file size). In fact, An option called "Desktop Uploader" is provided in video google for files larger than 100 MB.

Actually I am uploading through veoh.com which was suggested by Sbala. It is somewhat a slow process. I wish it shoudl be over tomorrow. I shall try the google videos too. i did not knwo about it at all.! i am going through that.

Ganesh,

If the video duration is longer than 30 minutes, I think a special veoh player is required to play the videos (if you are uploading in veoh). If you have any trouble uploading it to google videos, please send one of the videos to me (through yousendit/rapidshare). I will try to upload it. If it works, I can upload all the other videos too.
