Here you go: This is the invocatory piece that precedes the kanda gAnAmudam of Sri Kotishwara Iyer (a compilation of 72 songs on muruga - one each in each of the mELa rAgas with the rAga mudra woven into the lyrics).
pallavI:
Oh! Elephant (vAraNa) faced (mukhavA) one! Please come (varuvAi) to me as a companion (tuNai) and bless me (aruLvAi) out of your compassion (dayavAi).
anupallavI:
Please bless (aruL) and help me (udaviyE) imbue the nectar of compassion (karuNAmudam) in this ambrosia (amudattil) of music (gAna) that I am planning to compose on murugA (kanda) who is the essence (poruLAna) of the vEdAs (AraNa), Oh Lord with a proud (mada/mata) elephant (vAraNa) face (mukhavA)!
caraNam:
Without (inri) any (Edum) knowledge (arivu) [1] of music (inniSai), literature (iyal), or of grammar (ilakkiyam) in either sanskrit (Ariyam) or tamizh, I, kavi kunjaradAsan [2], am contemplating (unnum) the creation of this sweet (kannal anna) work/piece of literature (nannUlai) called kanda gAnamudam. I (nAn) have dared (tuNindEn) to create (paNna) this only with (koNDE) your (un) blessings (aruL) [3], Oh foremost among the gods (munnavanE). If you (nI) come forward (mun ninrAl) to destroy all obstacles, there is nary (illai) a (onru) thing that is not possible (muDiyAdadu) [4], therefore (AdalAl), please come to me with great (ati) speed (vEgamadAgavE).
[1] arivEdum = arivu + Edum
[2] Since Sri Kotishwara Iyer's guru was his grandfather Sri Kavi Kunjara Bharati, Kotishwara Iyer adopted 'kavi kunjaradAsan' as his mudra as a mark of his reverence for his guru.
[3] unnaruL = un + aruL
[4] muDiyAda-donrillai = muDiyAdadu + onru + illai

I finally have the lyrics for the one that I was reffering to. Can you please correct it, if it not right and please provide me the line by line meaning? I do not know the language I am thinking it is in Tamil.
Here it is. Seems like Raga Nattakurinji.
Varana Mukanae Nan(or Vaa) Unnae Thuthika Vaenuum Varam ArulVaya Sidhi Vinayakanae
Endrum Ulligil Unnae Padi -Nalae
Innalgalay Neeke Imbamum Tharu-vayae
Umai-aval Maganae Arul Purivai
Unathadiyae Nelam Peravay
Ammi Appa Endra Ullagum Ena Yeduthu Odhiyavane.
Thank you . All your help is greatly appreciated.
With Regards
Poonam

rshankar, here is my attempt at rewriting what poonmahe wrote.Pl.see if it helps.
The song looks incomplete-structurewise or may be the lines are interchanged.

rshankar: I was away for a few days and I had no access to all my files. I don't have this song but I have rewritten the words posted by Poonam:

I have some problems with the last line.

As it currently stands, here is what I make of it:
vAraNa mukhanE vA, nAn unnai tudikka vENDum vara aruLvAi siddhi vinAyakanE
Oh elephant (vAraNa) faced (mukhanE) one, please appear (vA) before me. As I (nAn) sing your praises (tudikka), please bless me (aruLvAi) with the boons (varam) I request (vENDum), Oh one who ensures success (siddhi) by destroying obstacles (vinAyakanE)!
enrum ulagil unnai pADinAlE innalgaLai nIkki inbam taruvAyE
At any time/At all times (enrum), in this world (ulagil), if one sings/chants (pADinAlE) your (unnai) praise, you will remove (nIkki) all the worries (innalgaLai) that beset us, and offer (taruvAyE) us happiness (inbam) instead.
umaiyavaL maganE aruL purivAyE unadaDiyE nalam peravE
ammai appanE ulagam enru eDuttu OdinAyE
The first line appears to be incomplete - Oh son (maganE) of pAravatI (umayavaL), please shower (purivAyE) your blessings (aruL) on this destitute who seeks refuge at your (unadu) feet (aDiyE), so that I can acquire/become (peravE) virtue/virtuous (nalam). You are the one who proclaimed (OdinAyE) to the universe that (enru) your mother (ammai) and father alone (appanE) constituted your entire world (ulagam).
vAraNa mukhanE vA, nAn unnai tudikka vENDum vara aruLvAi siddhi vinAyakanE

Sorry I have not kept up with this thread.
Ravi, it is indeed a padavarnam. You can take a listen here, although I do not believe this is the complete version:
http://www.hummaa.com/music/album/29231 ... l+Dance%29
Muktayi swara sahityam is missing, as well as many of the carana sahityas (one of them is just repeated). Play "Part 6." Composer is Sri TVG.
