Hi rasikas

Im a male Carnatic music student with a few years odf practice, who has recently started teaching some young kids , mainly girls. I am currently teaching them with shruti kept in A . Im able to sing in this Shruti and teach them , but do realize that Im exerting my voice when doing so especially for the madhya sthayi NI and Sa . The other option is for me to sing in the lower octave, but since they are complete beginners , I do not want to leave them confused . Im thinking of shifting to the lower octave once they get proficient in Swaravali varisai , and then train them to sing in the higher octave while I sing in the lower octave. I would appreciate any suggestions for the same .

Why don't you sing a few things in the lower octave and then in the higher octave, to show how the transformation is carried out?

But you are blessed to have such a big range! :)
