Speaking of names and ID's, what happened to the rasikas.org ID badge that was being discussed for some time? With the ever burgeoning rasikas population, it would be a worthwhile thing to have...

And have fun at the gathering!

As planned by Coolkarni, during his very short stay in Bangalore,a session took place at his very hospitable relative Mr. Vasuki's residence on a pleasnt saturday evening(1/11/08). Due to short nitice , many Bangalore based members could not attend, those who attended werec oolkarni, gobilalitha, ignoramus,v.s .manjunath, braindrain, srikanth. The other members I could not recognise.I may be EXCUSED if I have missed any other member's name. Other relatives and friends of Coolkarni were also present . T he evening session was highlightened by a vocal recital by Smt. CharulataRamanujam, a famous , leading violinist of Bangalore. within the short time available she chose to sing many small kritis, instead of the kucheri pattern ofalaap, kalpana swaras.etc . In her pleasant voice , she started with Purandara daas song parakunaate in the pleasing sumanesaranjani raag then followed kritis in he raaga, hamsanandi, dharmavati, vasanta, kambodi, sankarabharanam and a very movin Papanasam Sivan kriti dayavillaya in karaharapriya. In the meantime the family members of the host Sri.Vasuki kept themselves busy by satisfying our tastebuds every 5 minutes by supplying sweeis and savories , hot tea and coffee a very welcome addition in the pleasantly cool Bangalore evening. Myself and Ignoramus could not stay till end due to other engagements. Let me finish by thanking coolkarni, Vasuki and his family for the pleasant evening. It was all the more enjoyable for me ,as I was meeting coolkarni in person, because all these days ,I could not meet him since, whenverI was in chennai, he was away, and whenever he was in Bangalore I WAS AWAY ..GOBILALITHA.

Ii is a pity that I did not get myself introduced to GB Rajasekhar,SVKashyap and other members who attended. I remember that sometime back , there was a long discussion about identification badges to members. can anybody who have taken snaps post them? gobilalitha

 ,
You are really great ,while we all wish to have more get togethers , but for without you it just does not simply happen. I never knew that charulata ramanujam can also sing fairly full length concert. Will there be photos with recordings posted ?

Cool
I never knew that , he told me that he is a disciple of vallabham kalyAnasundaram who is the sister of mAyuram vishwanAtha sAstri. I am assuming shri bangalOre shankar's mom is another sister of vishwanAtha sAstri.

THANKS. We see a 'to smile or not' coolkarni. Me too with my companion, the walking stick! my heart felt thanks to ignoramus(seshan) to my right in the snap, for his trouble in accompanying me. he gave one of his ears of the head phone to listen to KVN in the auto ride for halfan hour. gobilalitha
