Thank you karunapati.
I heard Kaushiki Chkraborthy sing bhAgESri and yaman. I don't bnow how long this concert and others went on.
This is the first time I hear a tarAna in HM and CM in a row in a concert. Her rendering of Balamurali Krishna's tillAnA had charm.
She is from BengAl (I guess from her name and her conch bangles and kum kum on the parting--then again, you can never tell, traditions spreading across the borders).
She reminded me of Parveen. Same gharAnA?

Kaushiiki is Ajoy Chakrborthys Daughter.
So that should answer your Patiala Gharana Connection doubt-
BMk's Thillana experiment is obviously a result of Ajoys learning under BMK in recent years.
Last year I put up a clip of Ajoy singing the same bit at KGS and speak about hismtutelage under BMK.
Wonder if you missed it.I can put it back again.
