YACM Annual festival at Ragasudha Hall

23rd anniversary YACM was inaugurated today at Ragasudha Hall. I could not go intime to listen to Guruvayur Durai's address. The following artistes were present.
Chengleput Renganathan, PSN, GDurai,R. Vedavalli, vijai siva, TM Krishna, Sangeetha sivakumar to name few.
R. Vedavalli 's speach was in tamil. She has been attending this function ever since it was started . Though the committee changes the smooth conduct of the function is the same. The youngsters in this organisation are from different Gurus and there is no extra talk or gossiping excepting cooperation in running this . The yester years vidwans knew nothing other than music and music alone was their sole aim. But the present day vidwans are quite capable to do anything and even if they are sent to NASA will launch rocket.
Chengleput Renganathan was given a momento by PSN.
The function was followed by vocal concert by Nisha Rajagopal and Amritha murali.
Navaraga varnam, soorya kantham, Ritigowla, bilahari and saranga were found places in their concert. Due to failing eye sight cld not stay for a longer period.
It is a 5 days function and ends on 31st aug.

the list was
navaraga malika varnam, muddumomu - suryakantam, pahi sri giriraja sute - a'bhairavi, kamakshi varalakshmi - bilahari, tumani maadathu - hamirkalyani thiruppavavi, enduku dayaradhu ra - todi, vani pondu - khamas javali, ???, purnachandrika tillana, pavamana.

m not sure, i might be missing something between the thiruppavai and todi.

it was good concert. twas nice to see two seasoned artists coming together and singing a concert.
