Youth Association for Classical Music (YACM), finds immense pleasure in inviting you all for its 23rd anniversary celebrations at the Raga sudha Hall, Luz Mylapore Chennai and Music Academy Mini hall and parking lot(On 30th Aug 2008 alone).

27.08.2008 (Wednesday):

28.08.2008 (Thursday):
6:30 pm: Kum. Vidya Kalyanaraman - Vocal

29.08.2008 (Friday):
6:30 pm: Special Veena-Venu-Violin concert

Sri H. Prasanna - Ghatam

30.08.2008 (Saturday):
9 am at Music Academy Parking lot : Music Carnival – A musical extravaganza where more than 25 schools participate and put up musical stalls with interesting games, quizzes etc. A variety of events to impart musical knowledge the fun way.

9 am at Music Academy Mini Hall : Inter School/College Music Competition

6:30 pm at Raga Sudha Hall:
Sri T.N.S. Krishna - Vocal
Sri Nagai Sriram - Violin
Parupalli Shri Phalgun - Mridangam
Sri N. Guruprasad - Ghatam

31.08.2008 (Sunday):
9 am : Paper Presentation/Quiz/Competition
Judges: Shri RK Shriramkumar and Shri V Sriram

6:00 pm: Valedictory - Chief Guests: Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri M Chandrashekaran and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Vellore Ramabadran
6:30 pm: Special concert with “Double Mridangamâ€

Chennai seems to be THE HAPPENING PLACE; So many programmes one after the other.All chennai rasikas, enjoy yourselves.

Special combo because they sing together for the first time? Amruta Murali the violinist performs as a vocalist too, of late. Her guru is T.Rukmini. Is Nisha Rajagopal someone else's student? Is that why it is a special combo?

Yes, she is the daughter of performing vocalist Smt Vasundhara Rajagopal and both mother and daughter are trained by Prof TR Subramaniam.

Hi Shankar,

Thanks a lot.

The concert seems to be special because I think this is the first time they are singing together.Will confirm it anyways.

@ Puranvasu -Ya even I feel Chennai is the happening place for music!We are proud and happy that we are a part of it.
