I am just wondering if there is a simple gadget to record a concert (with artiste's consent , of course). i dont mean these tacky recording devices from which you get indistinctive sounds of recording. i mean something from a mic out ...... of the amplifier. Well , I am blabbering quite much. some one knowledged coudl throw some light. i am getting opputunites sometimes and missing it cos i am ignoramus in this area.

If you have the permission from the artiste it is always better to use the Tape Recorder connected to the Amplifier (which is available with all the mike men for a fee ranging bet 100 to 200/- per concert) and then convert them to CDs the quality is good. Other Idea being take a line out from the Mixer and connect it to your Gadget which should have a line in provision for clear recording. Else you can connect your Laptop to the Mixer Lineout and then do a recording directly with your recording software. But i wonder how many artistes give you permission to do so. Even being an accompanying artiste many main singers refuse to allow me to record the concert.

here is an alternative.. There are a lot of mp3 players (pocket size) available in the market(in india) which can be switched on and kept in your pocket.. at the end connected to pc to get the recording which can be enhanced by competent people... I have done a lot of them myself.. I use Transend T 610.. Price ranges from say 1200 for 1GB to ... for 8GB.. Basically you need not go above 2 GB becoz, battery life is not enhanced.. It gives the same 8-10 hrs of playing time only..
Your recording will have the latest stealth technology if you use creative zen/nano series recorders.. You have to undergo a security check if you were to be caught.
Dear J.Balaji,
you have hit the nail in the head, 100% true.. These artists will regret when they are at the end of their career... when they fade..they will feel bad that they have not documented enough..
