Prashant,
The concert reflects the meticulous preparation, thoughtfulness and effort you and your team have put together. Both the accompanyists were top notch. I really enjoyed your kannaDA and Kalyani, not to mention the choice of krithis. I can tell that you are particularly inspired by several musicians and your attempt to balance classic vs novelty, young vs old, flash vs value is really wonderful. Whether it was Saveri, Kalyani or Thodi, the krithis and viruthams you have chosen and your strong pronunciation would have made Smt Vedavalli proud. As you have said, music is a lifelong journey, and my best wishes to you as you build on your interest and capabilities through effort, creativity and know-how.

I am glad i attended the concert. Excellent song selection, erudite presentation i would say with emphasis on clear pronounciation of Krithis, bhava and manodarmam. We hope to see you in chennai season platform soon- feel so proud when so many of the knowledgeable ones praise you( tho
my contribution was nothing except knowing you well!!!) All the very best. Huseni and bhairavi were too good.

As I mentioned before, it's 'Mumbai' in my mind and that's what I typed in the 30 secods it too me to compose that post. You can continue wondering as to 'when I changed it for her' - the short answer is 'I did not'.

One would have thought the insinuation of toothlessness applied only to the tiger...not the cubs, nephews, and the foot soldiers - and definitely not the cm loving seemingly-south-Indian mANUs!
If we extend the Bombay-Mumbai logic to other cities we may end up renaming MLV to CLV, and Sanjay's guru would be "Kolkata Krishnamurthy"!!

Yes, thank God. Otherwise there will be a problem with abbreviations too. IITM has to be changed to IITC and IITB would become IITMvijay wrote:IIT Madras is certainly the same thank heavens...and so are IIT Bombay, IIM Calcutta etc. The new IIM in Kerala however prefers Kozhikode to Calicut...

Just a bump-up for the concert this weekend [details earlier on the thread] by Sri Vignesh Ishwar who also posts on our forum occasionally. Mumbai rasikas please try to make it to the concert by Vignesh, an upcoming and hard-working young singer. He will be accompanied by Sri Sivakumar Anantharaman on the violin / Sri Rajesh Sreenivasan on the mridangam and Sri Ganesh Ramamurthi on the khanjira.
