Dear All,

GENERAL DISCUSSIONS IS ONE HUNDRED POSTINGS OLD now

Lets look at what transpired in the past few days:

-- One BMK FAN uploads a film song - sung in a concert.
-- One VOCALIST protests and talks about copyright infringement.
-- One ADMINISTRATOR grants stay on all uploads of music.
-- One IMPORTANT SUPPLIER withdraws all products supplied.
-- One BIG BUNCH of rasikas lose out yet again
-- One PROFESSOR closes the sangita vidyalaya sine die

LET SILENCE PREVAIL ALL OVER and meanwhile enjoy the peace.

I am sure CML, VK, Meenaji, KS, Kji, Lji, DRS and the others, (well this includes VOCALIST too) are guys with other important tasks at hand. Let contribute elsewhere.

Cheers to all of you

Enjoy the P E A C E F U L vacation

That indicates the uncomfortable position that all of us are currently in. A resolution is of course required.

Param,
I think you are being very harsh. I have decided to post this because I get the feeling that you are a fair-minded dude who is frustrated by this controversy. However, I think everyone needs to take a step back and evaluate what exactly has happened:
Given the option of having the site closed down, I am sure Chembai has done the best thing - thank you Chembai for your even-handed handling of the crisis!
Kulkarni sa'ab did the right thing by pulling the links to avoid further controversy.
It is better to survive, so we can regroup, and plan for another day, than to die in vain: SO I APPLAUD ALL THE EFFORTS SO FAR! I think all of us owe Chembai et al. a thanks.
The purpose of this forum (explicit and implicit) is to discuss music. Somehow, that has become synonymous with u/l and d/l. U/L and D/L are just ONE of the means of making a point. I am sure points can be made like DRS does by demonstrating oneself, or by finding links to other pages that either allow for streaming audio or allow d/ls (like cooltoad). It definitely will take more time than asking Kulkarni sa'ab, or Badri for examples. But if our purpose is to educate and spread the message then we should not be afraid to do some work. I am sure, for example, that you (Param) can demonstrate the basics of what you are explaining by drumming on a bucket or a wooden bench (those were just examples: but for us, even that will be informative and extremely useful).

I do not think we have to grieve or that we have to feel betrayed. We just need to carry on: I am sure that between us, we have the ingenuity and enterprise to go boldly to places where no one else has gone before (I do not mean prison!).

Duplicate post deleted...although, I think what I said bears repeating!
