This is an article in the Bangalore edition of the Hindu of April 4th:

Veteran performer Usha Ramamurthy seems to be the only gottu vadya artiste who does regular concerts.

Do these people really proof-read, or should the question be, can they read?

It only underlines, regularity of giving concert by the artist in that area.

In the programmes (computers), we are only guided, without being stranded !!!

More so, we are almost habituated with 'GO TO SCHOOL; GO TO MUSIC CLASS etc..

Indeed. And hence it has been renamed chitravina by Shri Ravikiran. All kidding aside, I am amazed by the ignorance of journalists.

CHANDRACHURA, Bharatanatyam recital by Santnu Chakraborty and disciples based on compositions by Saint Purandara Dasa, dedicated to the lord of Kumbakonam.

Has purandara dAsa composed songs on Lord KumbhESvara? (The Lord of Kumbakonam means kumbhESvarar to me, although there are as many temples in kumbhakONam to rival tanjAvUr)....was candracUDa composed on kumbhESvara?

Yes, The song specifically mentions Shiva as "Kumbhapura vAsanu nIne" - you are the one who resides in Kumbha pura.

Purandara dAsa (and other dAsas) have mentioned other deities in their compositions. Among the deities out side of current day Karnataka, Tirupati would take the lead I think. Srirangam is also mentioned in a few songs. One that comes to my mind immediately is kangaLiddyAtakO kAvEri rangana nODada - of SripAdarAya.
