Songtales/Ravikiran - the link to registers -member/login on the main page does not appear to work. Could you tell me how to register - do you also need to be a worldspace subscriber for access?

I would like better response to emails asking why the web service had glitches. Me and one other person had signed for 24 hour trial period and towards the end 3-4 hours we could not get anything. We sent emails asking what the problem was, and general questions about reliability and also about support for other browsers. We did not even get an acknowledgment and have not gotten anything to this day (it has been many months)

So while I was impressed by the programming and the audio quality when it worked, I was not impressed by the customer service via email. I would like have liked some assurance about reliability before shelling out $10 (i think?) a month. Since I did not, I just moved on

(but my folks in India have the real device at home and they get good service and are happy)

hello arun,

thanks for the post. i am part of the shruti team, my name is priya narasimham. shruti's online services began approximately around august 9, 2007. the beta version of that 24 hour free trial which you mention worked for many. i know for i tried it myself. it also did not work for a few, and this i know from 2 emails we received in the shruti inbox. did you contact customer care? i'm sorry you did not get a clear reply for your email messages then, but now our online services are stabilized. we have a 72 hour free trial. you must give it a shot. see http://worldspace.msnserver.com/.

customer care is still your first point of contact for support issues. if you still do not get a quick reply, contact shruti: [email protected], and one of us will get help. we cannot be the support center upfront, because we're the content team that develops the radio programming. for shruti specific posts, please write henceforth directly on the shruti forum: its at www.worldspace.in/shruti. i'm happy your folks in india are enjoying the service. i honestly don't think it will be too long, before you will, too.

cheers,

priya

I would like to have residential telephone number of muscian Sri.Viyashiva, as his mother Smt. Akila shiva was my guru, when leant music at the age of seven. Though I met Mrs.Akila shiva in a marriage about 8 months back at chennai, I failed to collect their residential telehone number. I am confident you can help me with telephone number.

I signed up for Shruti online for a few months after falling in love with their programs on the radio in Chennai, but for some reason, the channel frequently wouldn't load, and after three consecutive weekends of malfunction and a polite but largely helpless technical helpdesk, I decided to discontinue my subscription. But they really do have some great programs like Colours of a Raga, Classic Recordings, interviews, and often honour even obscure musicians and composers in their morning program, Nadopasana.
