This is a yazhpAnam veeramani composition. maharAjapuram rAmachandran/santhanam have rendered it . Very emotive composition. There are lot of numbers that yAzhpAnam veeramani -santhanam had tuned when the later was the principal of jaffna music college.

exactly... heard it in a concert of maharajapuram ramachandran sir.. beautiful song...brought tears to my eyes.. and his bhavam was excellent... would love to know the lyrics so that i can understand the whole meaning of the song...

I have also heard this by Mah.Santhanam. I was wondering the meaning of the word "Nallai kanthan". Is it the place Nellai (Tirunelveli) or any other meaning ?

Nallai here probably stands for Nallur (Jaffna) which has a famous Kandaswami (Murugan) temple.
