Why so many question marks ???????????????????????? As if it's a great puzzle.

Of course it's a style of his own.

And a superb one, perfect in shruti, bowing, fingering, gamakam, kaalapramanam what have you. Nobody can come close to L Subramanaiam in terms of technical competence.

And its his own. L Subramaniam doesn't have to "follow" anybody's style !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That said, I am not at all fond of listening to him :-))))))))))))))))).

this is true. Most of the time it is like LET US SEE WHO FINISHES THIS 100 MTS FIRST.

and otherwise it is nothing special like a lalgudi or MSG or MC. never was his an arresting music to me.

There was a discussion about the L brothers' playing style before, with many people agreeing to the technical brilliance but bhava shortcomings of their style. They have indeed publicised Carnatic music in the West, but I'm not sure their music is really a true representation of the Carnatic tradition.

No complaints. Kunnakudi has his own style. some like it and some dont. it is people's predilictions. It is the same for everyone. Some may like Lalgudi. and Some only MSG. It is a matter of choice in fine arts.
