Sri H K Narayana, vocalist and popular sugama sangeeta artist passed away in Bengalooru.

My very early memories include listening to AIR Bengalooru's Gana Vihara - Music lesson program where he used to teach.

Very sad to hear this news. I have seen him learning from Sri RKS from very close quarters and also accompanying Sri RKS in concerts. May his soul rest in peace.

Incidentally, yesterday night, I happened to listen to him.There was a short program in Chandana-dd9.
He had worked with shree vidya bhushan and had set raagas to many devaranamaas.
When I was a kid, I had seen him singing in Raghavendra swamy mutt, Mysore. He was so much involved and, was singing with utmost bhakthi. I still remember that evening, vividly.. Great loss to Carnatic Music and daasa saahitya. May god bless him with eternal peace....

uLavaru shivAlayava mAduvaru, nAnenu mAdali basavaYa(basavEshwara vachana) set to Hamsadhwani and sung by him very melodiously being broadcasted by Vividh Bharathi, Bangalore was a quite a popular song.

Very sad to hear this news. He was a wonderful person and best teacher. Being his student i have learnt lot from him. It was a nice experience.

Mangala's feelings truely represents Narayan's personality. He was called "ajathashathru". One can never forget his "Shubhanudiye shakunada hakki..."a composition of Da.Ra.Bendre.
