Dear Rasikas,

Could anyone let me know the name of the organization where one can become a member in order to take part in Indian cultural activities, especially in Bharatanatyam. I heard that if a person becomes a life-time member of that particular organization, then the government will send this person within india and abroad, to take part, wherever there are any cultural activities. I myself am not so clear about the organization but I know of its existance through someone. A few friends suggested names like 'Lalit Kala Academy', and 'Sangeet Natak Academy' but they were very unsure. I was told that this organization is an all-India level organization.

I would be very grateful if someone could clear this out for me.

Thanks a lot.

regards,
gnjb

in case u want to just enjoy bharathanatyam activities, u may become a member of ABHAI( association of bhyarathanatyam artistes of india) this is a non-profit organisation based in chennai and has a lot of activities to its credit( including monthly workshops by eminent gurus) and yearly performances by young talent..!!!!
